About this blog

So why do I need a blog? Or my own Twitter account? Or Facebook page for me and Lea-Test? Because not everyone out there can find my website and this blog (and the Twitter and the Facebook) allow me to reach out to new audiences who are interested in children’s vision and vision development. I’ve worked in this field since the 1970s and I have lot of valuable information to share. And using social media I can be more effective. So if you have a question, please put it in a comment on this blog and I will try to get back to you within a few days and if your question is about a topic that affects a larger group of people, I will try to write a specific blog entry with the answers.

Couple of practical points. My daughter Liisa will manage this blog for me and she will alert me to your questions. I travel a fair amount around the world lecturing and teaching so at times it may take a while for me to write about your question/topic.

    Dear Dr. Lea Hyvarinen,

In advance excuse me for me English.
my name is John, i am 23 years old and i am from Greece. Recently i was diagnosed with Usher Syndrome type II. All the doctors i have seen until now recommented me to find a low-vision specialist/doctor, but in Greece there is no-one. I will be in Helsinki in a few days (15-17 April). As i see you are specialized in children’s vision. If you have any suggestion to make about any doctor or low-vision clinic (near Helsinki) you will be very helpful because i can’t found anything relevant in the web.

Thank you so much in advance!

    John
